Luke Winslow-King at the Buttermilk Jamboree Music Festival

Just a little highlight from Luke Winslow-King at the Buttermilk Jamboree Music Festival in Delton, Michigan last night.  What an amazing show!  It's performances like these that make me so grateful to have the opportunity to photograph this event.  Enough said, check out the photos from his set!

Buttermilk Jamboree Michigan Music Festival

Here's a few highlights from past events at Circle Pines Center in Delton, MI.  I love when I get hired to photograph events like this!  These intimate little Michigan music festivals, like Buttermilk Jamboree, are perfect places to bring the entire family.  It's a very family oriented, kid friendly music festival, with plenty to do for children and adults.  Don't even get me started on the amazing local food served here!  Anyway, I'm too excited to sleep so here's a little highlight from last years event.  I leave in the morning to pick up my press pass and start documenting this years 2018 Buttermilk Jamboree event.

Megan + Ben's New Addition

I really enjoy these in home portrait sessions, especial for newborns and family photos.  I feel like the pictures are more intimate and just have more meaning to them.  This little guy was very cooperative for our shoot and I feel like I captured some really special moments.  I really like when I finish a session and can't wait to get home to see what I got.

Michelle + José Wedding Engagement

So excited to be Michelle and Josè's wedding photographer this July.  They will be getting married at Laurel Manor in Livonia, MI July of 2018.  I had to post a few highlights from their engagement shoot last Fall.  We did two engagement sessions and working with them was really fun, they made my job so easy.  I really didn't give much direction, most of their poses were very natural and they laughed together through the entire session.  Our first session was in Glenn, Michigan at a local vineyard.  We found an old barn to shoot in, then walked through the vineyard for the rest of the session.  The second shoot took place at Lincoln Park in Chicago, IL.

Hayley + James Wedding

We started the day with a few getting ready and detail shots at the Radisson Hotel downtown Kalamazoo.  We then headed to the ceremony site in Oshtemo, MI.  It was a quiet, small ceremony in the mother of the brides backyard.  I think these are some of the best ceremonies, they're intimate and just the right size.  After saying, "I Do" we had a brief reception at the house with food and cake cutting.  We then sneaked away to Heritage Hall on Western Michigan University's campus for a little photo shoot.  After this, the party got started at Old Dog Tavern downtown Kalamazoo with lots of good, live music and a first dance for the newly wed couple.

Grand Rapids Spring Wedding

What a fun spring wedding here in Grand Rapids, Michigan!  There are so many amazing churches with tall cathedral ceilings and beautiful stained glass windows.  The Bride and Groom were really fun to work with and gave us plenty of great photo opportunities throughout the day, including an amazing bubble exit from the tall wooden church doors, out into the streets of Grand Rapids.  We then walked with the wedding party down the streets, stopping throughout the city for photos.  We wrapped up the night with dinner, cake cutting, champaign toasts, and dancing at The Courtyard by Marriott for the reception.

Karen + James Engagement II

Just a few more from Karen and James.  We did two engagement shoots, so this one was a short session.  We really wanted to catch the last of the apple blossoms so we ran out to VerHage Fruit Farms in Kalamazoo.  They're getting married in October at the Blodgett Wedding Barn in Schoolcraft, Michigan.
